Beyond Word of the Year: Finding Your 2025 Anchor
As we approach 2025, I'm seeing so many beautiful posts about chosen "words of the year." For some, finding that perfect word feels natural and right - it simply appears and resonates deeply. If that's you, I applaud you, friend. Hold onto that word and let it guide you.
But for others, trying to distill all our hopes and intentions for the year into a single word can feel constraining. That's why I want to introduce a different approach: finding your anchor for 2025.
Your anchor might be a word - but it could also be a symbol, a short phrase, a mantra, or even an image that grounds you. Think of it as something you can return to when life feels stormy, a touchstone that reminds you of your deeper intentions when everything feels urgent and overwhelming.
The magic isn't in the form your anchor takes - it's in how it centers you and guides your choices. When you're faced with decisions, feeling scattered, or lost in the day-to-day chaos, your anchor becomes your loving reminder of how you want to feel and what truly matters to you.
Here's how to find your anchor:
Start with a feeling. How do you want to feel in 2025? What energy do you want to embody in your daily life? Let these desired feelings guide you to whatever form of anchor resonates most deeply.
Remember, choosing an anchor isn't about limiting yourself to one goal or area of growth. Instead, think of it as your home base - the steady point you return to when everything seems equally important. It becomes your gentle accountability partner, quietly asking: Does this choice align with my desired feeling? Is this bringing me closer to or further from my foundation?
Take a deep breath. Release the pressure to choose the "perfect" word if that doesn't feel right to you. Your anchor - whether it's a word, phrase, symbol, or something else entirely - will find you when you focus on how you want to feel rather than what you think you "should" choose.
What's calling to you for 2025? ✨
