☀️Rise & Reflect:🧘🏼♀️ Morning Habits for Inner Peace
My morning routine is built upon my desired identity. Since I want to be a grounded, peaceful person, it’s important for me is to start my day from a place of calm and trust that all will be okay, no matter what comes my way. Every day presents new challenges, and it’s crucial for me to be centered in order to best navigate unexpected detours in my day, which often can be anxiety-provoking.
I start the day by opening my Gabby app (by Gabby Bernstein, master manifester and spiritual guru) and reading the affirmation card that God and the universe have chosen for me. I go on to listen to Gabby read a short, soothing meditation. This helps me ground myself, set my intentions, and remind me that I am supported by something larger than myself. Next, I move on to my two readings from Jesus Calling and Journey to the Heart. These devotionals help give me perspective and remind me that whatever happens throughout the day, there is purpose and meaning behind it. They remind me that I can trust God and the process and keep my heart open to grace and gratitude, even in difficult moments.
Those are just two examples of the habits that support the person I want to be. When you are clear about the identity you are seeking, contemplate morning habits that are supportive of that vision. For example, if you are looking to be a person who embodies calm and mindfulness, you may consider adding a morning meditation or journaling practice to center yourself. If your desired identity is to be someone who is motivated and productive, think about starting your day with an empowering podcast or reading a book that lights a fire in you each morning. If you're looking to become someone who is physically strong and energized, consider starting your day with a short workout or stretching routine to get your body moving and boost your energy levels. Whether it’s a quick yoga session, brisk walk/jog or some weights, moving your body first thing can set a powerful tone for the day ahead.
Regardless of the identity you’re striving for, the key is consistency. Your morning habits should be intentional and designed to nurture the type of person you want to become. A calm, centered morning routine sets the tone for the rest of your day and allows you to face whatever challenges arise with grace and ease.
The small habits you commit to every morning are a reflection of the identity you are creating. So, take a moment to reflect: what kind of person do you want to be? And how can your morning routine support that vision?
