Splurge vs. Steal

As with most areas of my life, I approach my shopping habit (err…I didn’t mean habit, Dave. Silly me) with the same central theme: balance. So when I stumble across a piece that I love, but that carries a hefty price tag, I do some research to see if I can find a similar item that won’t break the bank. Often, I am able to locate something comparable for a lesser cost and I jump on the “steal”! If I can achieve the same look, there’s no reason to spend a fortune. However…every once in awhile there is an item that causes me to “splurge”. If it’s crafted by a reputable designer and I’m convinced of its quality, then I view it as an investment. These items are ones I know will last for years to come, and that can be versatile in my wardrobe. I ask myself: Can I wear it with multiple looks? Can I wear it in various facets of my life? If the answer is yes, I consider the splurge. (Note: Dave, this is in no way a plug for those Valentino wedges. I am only trying to HELP people!)

So here are a few items I’ve been eyeing up. What splurges and steals have you come across? Share in the comments section!
