Feeling Anxious?
Somedays we wake up feeling stressed and anxious. If today is one of those days for you…I see you.
Aside from the state of the world, we had some major storms in the Northeast yesterday, bringing power outages and damages (How many days left in 2020??!!). And for some of us, those aren't even our biggest stressors.
If deep breaths just aren’t cutting it for you, I sat down this morning and created a visual to guide myself through some self talk. Anxiety builds like a snowball rolling downhill, and unless we can stop it, it just picks up momentum until it feels so large and out of control.
I told myself to just STOP and write down what really matters and also what I can actually control. As I can never stray too far from my teaching/literacy coaching instincts, I decided to put it into a Venn diagram. The visual is just a very concrete reminder and tool to bring me back down a few levels.
